A non-profit organization
Nutritional Blindness in Juvenile Raccoons
Northeast Texas seems to have a larger number of intakes of blind
juvenile raccoons. It appears to be caused by nutritional imbalances.
WCCR is working toward discovering the cause of these imbalances and
creating a protocol for treatment of these animals when they are admitted
to care. We currently have reversed four cases admitted in 2008, and we
look forward to working with rehabbers around the state and nation as
these animals arrive this year.
